How I work

Attachment. Relationship. Body. Nervous system. Meaning.

What if the patterns you're struggling with aren't signs that something is wrong with you—but adaptations that make sense in the context of your life?

Patterns that make sense in the context of your life.

We are shaped by the ongoing interaction between our biology, our experiences, our relationships, our families, our cultures and the larger systems we live within. Over time, we develop ways of understanding ourselves and the world that influence how we respond to stress, navigate relationships, understand our needs and experience ourselves.

Often, these patterns develop outside of our conscious awareness. And sometimes, patterns that once helped us survive, belong, connect or feel safe continue long after the circumstances that shaped them have changed.

Therapy can be a space to become curious about these patterns—not as evidence that something is wrong with you, but as adaptations that make sense in the context of your life.

My approach

My work is integrative, with a foundation in attachment, relational and trauma-informed psychotherapy.

I incorporate Somatic Experiencing®, IFS-informed parts work, mindfulness, attachment, compassion and body-based approaches, adapting our work to your needs, goals and capacity.

I believe that meaningful change isn't only something we understand intellectually. Our experiences are also held through our bodies, nervous systems, emotions and relationships.

Therapy can therefore involve slowing down, noticing what is happening in the present moment, becoming curious about bodily and emotional responses, and developing greater capacity to stay connected to yourself while experiencing difficult internal states.

The intention isn't to erase difficult emotions or become a different person. It is to create more choice, connection, agency and freedom in how you respond to your life.

Individual therapy

I work with adults (18+), couples and people in alternative relationships who want to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change.

You may feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, anxious, lonely or unsure of who you are anymore. You may understand your patterns intellectually but still find yourself repeating them. Or perhaps you're moving through a transition and are questioning what you want, who you are, or how you want to live.

I support people navigating:

Inclusive & decolonial practice

Context matters. Your experience doesn't exist in isolation.

I work with individuals, couples and people in diverse relationship structures, including ethical non-monogamy and kink-informed relationships.

I offer affirming care to queer and gender-diverse clients and strive to create a culturally responsive space where your identities, relationships, values and lived experiences are respected.

I also recognize that our individual experiences don't exist in isolation. Family systems, culture, community, socioeconomic circumstances, colonial histories and broader systems of power all shape how we experience ourselves and the world.

My practice is located in Ottawa on the unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg people. My work is informed by a decolonial perspective and an ongoing commitment to understanding the ways systemic and historical contexts shape individual and collective wellbeing.
